Gathering signatures for Kalamazoo city Commissioner campaign

A Task for a Kalamazoo Energy Committee

Neva Tice and I have been discussing the advantages of a tricounty GREEN manufacturing facility to create pellets from landfill substance. Then Michigan could gladly accept landfill from Canada and Chicago... manufacture pellets from the landfill material...sell clean burning pellets and create cheap energy. It's a big business in Australia. It could be big business in Michigan. Needs researching.. who would be the players, how would it affect the salvage business, how would it affect landfills??? This is one of the tasks and Kalamazoo Energy Commission could study. We need an Energy Committee to look in to more creative energy solutions such as this one.

Campaign announcement

My name is Karen Wellman and I am running for Kalamazoo City Commissioner. I am inspired by Eleanor Roosevelt's Universal Declaration of Human Rights, December, 1948 which states "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act toward one another in a spirit of brotherhood. Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person...." In my job as a special education teacher, in my life as a mom, in my roles in community government and politics, I have held true to this guiding statement. I have upheld human rights, fairness to all, and dignity to all. This is why I support the Kalamazoo Gay Rights Ordinance.
